I took my normal stroll around the place. I noticed there were 2 cauliflower heads coming on in the vegetable garden so I got some toothpicks and drew the leaves of the cauliflower plant up around the heads and pinned them with the toothpicks. This will keep the beautiful white heads from being burned by the sun until they are ready to cut.
Today I washed all the dishes to be used at the wedding reception and put them downstairs where they would not collect any dust. Just having that accomplished is a check on my list of things I need to get done. After Tuesday, my last day of work for the week, I will load the dishes into my van and that will be checked off my list as well.
It's a flavor that is deceiving. First you bite into the nuts and think, oh, these aren't too hot and then you get that last bit of burn. I think that's what makes them so tasty. They don't kill you but they let you know they are definitely worth putting in your mouth!!!
I put an 8 pound pork butt roast in the crockpot. It's going to be some grand pork barbecue later this evening!! I'll make some cole slaw and some homemade ice cream and supper will be ready!
After making new hummer water and putting it in the frig for this next week I was off to the herb garden. The nettles need cutting back again and the basil is growing like wild so I need to get it trimmed back as well. I can't decide what I want to do with the basil. I don't really want to make pesto yet so my choices are either dry it or freeze it up in cubes. Hmmmm! While I was out there I started weeding. I had promised myself just to cut nettles but I bent down to pull one little weed and didn't come up for about an hour. I feel better though!!
