I had to work at the office today and mercy it was busy. Then after work I went over to the bride's mother's house and got most of the food and ingredients along with a lot of the dishes I am going to be using for the wedding reception. I am really, really getting pumped.
When I got home I carried everything in the house and put all the stuff in the freezer or the refrigerator and went upstairs. Hubby had been out mowing and was so tired. He had also had a run-in with 3 snakes today or maybe I should say they had a run-in with him and he won!!! We have a woodpile out by the shelter house for burning in our fire ring and I think maybe we may have a nest under the wood. I'm not worried, hubby will take care of it – but I'm certainly not going out that direction until he does. I can stand mice, roaches and a lot of other critters but NOT SNAKES. I've got the whole picture – I know they are valuable in the garden because they eat bugs and stuff but I just can't handle them. We can't let them get out of control here either. This property had set empty for a few years before we bought it and the first summer after we bought the place we had 23 snakes show up. Yikes!!! It felt like they were everywhere!! Even if I loved snakes – that's way, way too many.
We had pork loin, chef salad and pork 'n' beans tonight for supper. Yep, tonight was hubby's choice and he wanted plain old pork 'n' beans, straight from the can. He doesn't even want me to warm them up. He calls them cowboy beans!!! I call him nuts but that's the way he likes them and hey, it is easy!!!
I'm going to finish watching The Avengers with my husband and then I'm going to finish that book and maybe tomorrow I can get back to doing some real work and back in my herb garden.
See Ya!
