I’ve been fairly busy here at the office all day long. I’m looking forward to getting home, kicking off my shoes and relaxing a bit.
I did some grocery shopping after work. I needed to get a few things in the house for next week that were easy for hubby to eat. I bought him a frozen pizza and some balogna and cheese and he told me this morning that he would buy Subs one night and a bucket of chicken another. He realizes how busy I’m going to be this coming week and don’t think for one minute I don’t appreciate it either!!
I had to pick raspberries again tonight but I couldn’t get into the garden to check on the squash, zucchini and cucumbers. I’ll be lucky to get in tomorrow. We got a LOT of rain last night!!! I also went ahead and fixed the chicken-fried steak, mashed potatoes, gravy and green beans and it was good, even if I say so myself.
The Purple Martins are just everywhere, flying, sitting on their box, in the trees, just everywhere!! I love it!!
After supper I went out to the herb garden and collected calendula blossoms and just sort of walked around enjoying the scents and the color. I had put a sweet potato vine on the bench that my friend, the Birdlady, had given me and you absolutely would not have believed it!!! This was one of those large planters overflowing down the sides with these beautiful, lime green, grand leaves and it was gorgeous. The deer evidently though so too because it is nothing but nubs now. One thing for sure - the herb garden is constantly full of surprises, some good some not so good.
