It's almost like grieving for me when part of my family has to leave and head home but what's much worse is watching my oldest granddaughter, with tears streaming down her face, holding onto her Uncle for dear life. I nearly broke down watching that play out. Good-byes are so difficult. Tomorrow my youngest, his wife and Henley, their dog, head back to Virginia and oh my, it will be so quiet around here - just so quiet.
-------------------------------------
Yesterday was a boatload of fun. We had Egg & Sausage Casserole for breakfast and baby girl kept saying, "I want egg casserole" . . . for about the whole 45 minutes it takes to bake!! She was as patient as she could be but waiting 45 minutes for the casserole to make it from the oven to her plate tested her abilities far beyond her 3 years of age so honey-nut cheerios held our precious one at bay for the duration.
Then we went outside and fed the dog, went out to see the horses and the girls even got on Missi, my horse. Though I dare say - that youngest grandchild of ours may actually, one fine day, ride Power. She rather liked him and almost - just almost got on him, but at the last minute backed out. Our oldest was game for riding Missi. She really likes horses and we'll always have to have one here at the ranch, just for her!!
We played board games, watched a movie, talked and laughed and were silly. It was a very good family day.

We just came in from outside. We were sitting around the fire ring having hotdogs, marshmallows and hot chocolate. We smell smoky but ooooh, it's so warm inside. Showers for everyone!!!
So much has happened in the last few days there's no way I can tell it all to you here but "it was good".
