It got cold last night. I turned the furnace back on before I went to bed and it is running this morning. It won't run long I'm sure. The sun has come out and is shining so brightly!
Today I need to clean house and bake a pumpkin pie. There's not really that much to do. We're going out to dinner tonight with some friends and then coming back here for pie and coffee. I'm genuinely looking forward to some conversation and laughter.
I would like to transplant some of my tomatoes and peppers to larger containers today. They look mighty fine. These are some of the best looking plants I've grown in awhile.

The pie is in the oven and I'm on my way outside to walk around and see what kind of trouble I can get into. See Ya!!

First I went out to the barn and lo and behold - 7 eggs!! I know I'm crazy, I just know it!!! I feel so rich carrying eggs back from the barn. I feel like I've got a secret mine hidden away - but my mine has eggs!! Then I went walking around and couldn't find a thing to get into. I did find some wild violet blossoms and picked them for teas. It's probably silly to be out picking them right now. There aren't really very many available yet. If I wait another week or two I'll be overrun with them but it's such a joy and a treat to find them! There were a few dandelions but I'll pass on them for awhile. The nettles are ready for picking again and . . . . . . oh, MY FRIENDS!!! I've just run from typing to the front door and back again. Hubby said, "Nina, they're here!!!" "The Purple Martins are here!!!" Oh, there's nothing any better. I was really worried this year. They are very late - but finally, THEY'RE HERE!!
