It is generally fortified with B-Vitamins and has protein and several minerals. B vitamins are difficult for me to incorporate into my diet and I don't like pills and there's a lot of evidence out there that says the body doesn't absorb most of the Vitamin B from those capsules anyway. There's also a lot of evidence that states B-Vitamins are excellent for brain health and I'm all for that. Anyway, folks, it's good. I tasted it straight out and threw some on pizza and am already considering how great it would taste on popcorn. They say you can make a great fake Parmesan by using ground almonds and nooch! I want to see what it tastes like sprinkled on pasta and potatoes too. Yum! The greatest thing is "no cholesterol"!!!!!!
What a day!!! It started off okay and went downhill fast! Got to work and turned on my computer to a warning beeping sound which I soon found out meant that my computer was fried! I have a really, really old computer at work and I knew it had been running exceptionally slow this past week but this was not good news. My boss and I had high hopes that it would last through the year. Only 7 more weeks to go and . . . oh, well. I'm an "old" secretary and have spent many a day typing away on a manual typewriter and am probably one of the few secretaries in the world that still takes shorthand!! If our tech guy cannot transfer all the files to my boss's computer at least I'm capable of getting the work done the long, slow way. I did a bunch of work today the old-fashioned way and the repetitiveness is what you don't realize the computer has diminished. Take for instance letters. You've got a form that already has a current date, an address, an opening, a closing and an envelope and I just put in the body and that's just a simple letter!! I am more in love with my computer than I ever thought possible but I'm terribly glad that I know how to get 'er done - the old-fashioned way!! I went out on my lunch hour to buy some arrowroot because I am looking at trying my hand at concocting my own face powder and blushes. I also went looking for Nutritional Yeast or as some call it "nooch". I've run across so many recipes for blends that include nutritional yeast but I've never tried them. Today I decided to see if I could find some at our natural food store. It came in a 10 oz. container and cost me almost $15. I didn't like the idea of buying a container that large but I've been promising myself I would get this for quite awhile now, so I bit the bullet. I couldn't wait until I got it home. It has a taste that is a cross between a cheesy and a nutty flavor. I put some information I found on it on my Did You Know Page. Check it out if you have the time and are interested.

AuthorMy name is Nina. Southern Indiana has been my home since 1952. I've been a legal secretary most of my adult life and for my leisure time I enjoy everything connected to the world of herbs and cooking is almost like a "fever". I am also quite opinionated but try not to push my opinions on others. My family is grown and I'm left with a wonderful hubby sharing life with me. I'd guess you'd say my passion is living that life to the fullest. Archives
