By the way - can you believe that July is almost over?! I guess I spent so much time lamenting the rain and trying to figure out how to garden around all the moisture that I simply didn't let sink in how much time was passing. Before we even realize it the Summer days will be past and Autumn will have arrived. So much like life itself. Don't let the days fly by empty and colorless. Make every one of them count!!
Yesterday I finally had the opportunity to make the new tea recipe that had been bouncing around in my head. Most of my teas are, as Hubby puts it, weedy tasting. I actually like herbal teas that taste like herbs but he's got it in his head that they are supposed to taste like regular tea. Ah, I can't win this one! Anyway, I find that a lot of people, when they talk about delicious herbal teas they are really talking about herbal teas with juice in them or that have a juice taste. Now, yes they do taste good; so I wanted something that was good for you, yet satisfied the palate of the "juice tea" people. I don't need a whole slew of that type of tea but at least one. I want to be hospitable and when I fix myself a cup of tea I want to be able to offer someone a cup of tea that they would enjoy as well. I am happy to introduce you to my new herbal tea!! I've named it Raspberry-Lemon Delight. I fixed myself a cup, added some honey, took a sip and thought, "I think I've got it!" It's a very simple recipe. You could make it yourself and here it is:
2 Parts Orange Bergamot Mint
1 Part Lemon Balm
1 Part Lemon Basil
1 Part Dehydrated Red Raspberries, semi-crushed
1/2 Part Hibiscus Flowers
1/8 Part Coriander, semi-crushed
Enjoy!!
