We had scrambled eggs with melted cheese on top and toast with some of my new jams and jellies this morning. We are full already so lunch will be late and small, if at all. I'm heading outside to pick some green beans for our dinner tonight. We're grilling out pork loins, some squash and eggplant-and with the green beans and some sliced tomatoes it will be all we want. While I was out in the garden I notice that we had 2 small heads of cauliflower and some more broccoli sprouting so I cut them off and am freezing up a batch of cauliflower & broccoli mix for this Winter. My Italian Roma Tomatoes are just now coming on so I'm sure Monday I'll be into tomatoes for most of the week. Putting up tomatoes isn't hard, but yuk, it sure is messy and I'm messy by nature; so I'll be cleaning my kitchen all over again!!
We've both decided we were going to take it easy today and do a little but not get ourselves all worn out like we usually do. We want to be able to be full of energy on Sunday. Tomorrow we go to Indianapolis to our son's church and our granddaughter's baptism. What a blessing to be able to see her make this public acknowledgment of the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord. Not every grandparent gets to have such a wonderful event in their lives. I consider it something of great value.
Hopefully, next year I will also be planting the Scarlet Runner Bean as well. It's supposed to have red blooms. Wouldn't it be cool to have purple and red together? What a color delight.
