I practiced early this morning the song I'm singing at church Sunday and, of course, have been practicing everyday for the last couple weeks. I've got this personality problem. It's got to be perfect!! The humbling and humorous part of it is - it's NEVER perfect, but I've got to try. I'd like to have the type personality of just doing the best I can and forgetting it . . . but nope, my best is never good enough. I am getting a little better in my old age. At least I'm not getting sick before I sing anymore, that's a real plus! LOL!!!
I went through my cabinets and stores today trying to see what was already on my shelves for Christmas candies and cookies. I noted that I had some Marshmellow Creme and so I pulled that out and when I go to the store this month I'll buy a couple new jars to hang onto for next year. I'm not big on storing the indulgent stuff but I do like to have a little around. I also realized I didn't have a lick of chocolate in the house other than cocoa. Yikes!!! I can't live without chocolate. After perusing my food storage, I was actually, all-in-all, in pretty good shape. The biggest chunk of my grocery budget for December will be cheeses, meats (ham, bacon & chicken wings), chocolate and fruits. I've pretty much got everything else I need. Yes, I'll have to buy flour, sugar, spinach, and celery, stuff like that; but we're not having company for Christmas this year so we don't need to have a whole lot of junk food sitting around, although I don't want to just skip the good stuff altogether.
We finished up our Christmas shopping this morning. I had been searching yesterday - all day - for fun things for my oldest granddaughter. Whew!!! Ten year olds are tough! This morning we decided to bite the bullet and get a couple smaller things for her and let the chips fall where they may. Grandparents, I'm told, are notorious for buying lame gifts so maybe we'll just fall in line. I suppose she should feel lucky I didn't buy her those terrible looking elf jammies I came across!!!
