I spent some time with the chickens, fished and caught absolutely nothing and wandered the woods. I also checked out the herb garden and noticed that I had chives up. The lemon balm and horehound are already greening up nicely and the parsley seed I planted last year is endowing me with mega numbers of starts. Oh the joy of Spring. The birds are singing and going absolutely crazy around here. You can hardly hear yourself think!
I marinated some really thick pork steaks and hubby grilled them slathered with homemade barbecue sauce for our dinner. Oh my goodness. I made some Macaroni & Cheese and deviled eggs and we bombarded our bellies with some awfully tasty stuff while gazing out at our lake, which by the way, was gorgeous.
Later yesterday evening, after dark, we went out and sat at the deck table and listened to the night sounds while gazing at the stars. In our quiet conversation to each other we mentioned how very contented and thankful we were that the two of us are able to share in so many beautiful moments. We've said it before and I'll say it again. We are truly blessed but the greatest blessing of all is "knowing it"! Just think of the people who go through life and never look around themselves and see all the treasures they have. They have so much and don't even realize it. Don't make that mistake, my friends. Don't let the joy pass you by.
