Hubby and Sam went hunting again today. They were not as excited as they were yesterday. The icy rain and cold temperatures wore them both out. Every piece of clothing hubby had on was soaked through. He tried to get everything dry before he started out this morning but his boots were still wet so he had to wear some old boots and I'm not too very sure how long they will last out in the field . . but they are giving it all they got! They did have a good time yesterday though. Hubby said Sam worked close and did his job and they both enjoyed each other. When they got back they went out to the shop, turned the heat on and collapsed on a bench in front of the heater, Hubby with Sam's head on his lap. I don't think either of them moved for a half hour.
Today I'm heading out again to do some serious Christmas shopping. We also have a wedding coming up to which we've been invited and I am looking for an outfit for myself. Oooooh, I do so love to dress up!! I'm kind of excited about shopping! I'll let you know how it goes.
-------------------------
I'm here to tell you - shopping was a disaster!! Maybe it's just me but does anybody dress up anymore? I'm not talking long gorgeous dresses. They've got them, but I'm talking about church dresses or dresses for a date or to go to dinner or perhaps even dressy skirts or pants. There are fantastic pants and sweaters out there and if that was what I was looking for I would have had a ball but I needed a stylish dress or slacks and a special top or jacket that was dressy. Well, there was none to be found! I did find a cream long jacket that will go well with my stand-by "little black dress" and I bought some jewelry with cream and black to go with it. I have cream strappy heels and it will all go together okay - but I was terribly disappointed. The nearest shopping mall is about 2 hours away if I want anything more suitable. Maybe I'll wake up one morning and go ahead and make the trip but geez!!!
I got home about 3:00 p.m. and pulled some leftover salad out of the frig and had lunch. Hubby and Sam brought in a pheasant for me to finish cleaning and freeze and then I headed back down to the herb kitchen to drown my shopping sorrows by making up some herb teas. I need to make some more Chamomile Tea and Restful Tea anyway.
