I had to pick raspberries again tonight. If I keep them picked they seem to produce very well. Also, if I keep them picked the deer and the birds have a tendency to not peck away at them or trample down my bushes. The deer have invited themselves to my raspberries for the first time ever. Evidently they hadn't found them until this year but I can guarantee you now that they've had a tasty bite they'll be back!!
Before I stop blogging I wanted you to see my bee balm. I used to have purple but it looks as though this scarlet bee balm has run it off. On the other side of the garden I have red bee balm. Oh, and it is just beautiful! I wanted you to see how pretty these plants have gotten and I have made numerous pots of yummy tea from them as well. As you probably all know, when the colonists decided to throw all the tea overboard, which was called the Boston Tea Party, it left them bereft of tea which was the drink of choice in the Americas. The women consequently, resorted to many, many different plants common to the area. One of the plants they made tea from was bee balm, hence the name Liberty Tea.
