Today Hubby is home with the stomach flu. Poor guy! I'm kind of babying him. He doesn't get sick too very often so he's getting his fair share of attention.

Yesterday evening while I was putting supper together, I was also making Lemon Tea Bread. I had told Hubby that when the Lemon Thyme bloomed I would make him this bread. You can make this bread any time of the year but I only make it once a year. It's like a celebration of herbs for me. When the lemon thyme blooms I make this bread and will not make it again until next year. I really should have paid more attention to how the thyme and bread were placed. If done properly it is a sensational looking dish. You use the herbs lemon balm and lemon thyme in the bread making it gorgeous inside too. I'll put the recipe on my Recipes page. If you decide to make this in the Fall or Winter simply put another couple tablespoons of milk in your pan and then put your dried herbs, crushed but not pulverized, in to soak since the dried herbs will absorb some of the liquid. Also, the juice from two lemons is used for the glaze and it makes way too much but I always make it anyway, refrigerate the leftover and use the glaze on cupcakes or muffins later.

AuthorMy name is Nina. Southern Indiana has been my home since 1952. I've been a legal secretary most of my adult life and for my leisure time I enjoy everything connected to the world of herbs and cooking is almost like a "fever". I am also quite opinionated but try not to push my opinions on others. My family is grown and I'm left with a wonderful hubby sharing life with me. I'd guess you'd say my passion is living that life to the fullest. Archives
