Today I had decided I was going to try my hand at making homemade spaghetti pasta. My youngest son and his girlfriend got me a pasta maker for my birthday and I finally had a day where I could actually take the time to play around with it. Of course, since I was going to be making spaghetti I decided we had to have some garlic bread so I went to work making some homemade bread too. I also figured it was just as easy to make two loaves as one so I made one loaf of Italian Bread and one regular loaf bread. Mercy, mercy, it smelled wonderful in the kitchen today. While I was doing all this my youngest son, who lives in another state, was making gluten-free ravioli with his new equipment and we were talking back and forth on our computers, having a blast. By the way gluten-free ravioli is tough to make and he did a fabulous job. I saw pics and it looked like the store-bought stuff.
So anyway folks, since I didn't have much to do I decided to attend to laundry too. Yikes!!! Am I crazy or what?!!
Here's the bottom line. I made real homemade spaghetti - I REALLY, REALLY DID!! What's even better is that it was good. Honest, it was awesomely good!! It was also so cool to make the pasta, use my homemade spaghetti sauce and make my own homemade garlic bread. Just too cool!! So here I am with 2 loaves of bread, one half eaten and the other one, the loaf bread, has been attacked by Hubby and no longer has either of the ends on it. I also have a huge bowl of leftover spaghetti in the frig, which will be lunch tomorrow. Hubby said he was really impressed with it all and if he would have stopped right there he would have made a gold star for the day but he had the unadulterated audacity to say, "I wish you'd make some ravioli!" CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?!
