I received a call from the post office today to pick up the 3 extra chickens ordered a few months ago. I was so excited. I already had a pen inside the chicken coop to keep them in so they could interact with the other chickens but a pen that would keep the older ones from pecking them and perhaps hurting them. This way maybe they will get used to each other while developing a pecking order and it won't be so hard on any of them. I was so surprised at how little they were. I hadn't realized how much my girls had grown.
This morning I took the opportunity to get some cobwebs out of my brain. I have numerous cookbooks and untold recipes that I have downloaded from the internet to try in my spare time!! Needless to say they haven't all been used but I have great intentions and I'm not about to give up on the idea of trying each and every one of them!! But . . .the stack is getting a little out of hand. Today I sat down with a list and got all my recipes in order. Put them in a bag with a list of each one of them. Now I'm ready. Anytime I have a chance I can reach for my list, make my pick and grab a recipe. Just feels good to have it all in one place. It's sort of like a clean house. I can think in a clean home but when my house gets cluttered and I see so much that needs put up and put away, dusted and mopped, vacuumed and washed, I can't seem to get anything done. Clutter not only effects my home, it effects how I feel and how much I can actually accomplish each day. The baby birds are being kicked out of their nests, spreading their wings and flying high.

AuthorMy name is Nina. Southern Indiana has been my home since 1952. I've been a legal secretary most of my adult life and for my leisure time I enjoy everything connected to the world of herbs and cooking is almost like a "fever". I am also quite opinionated but try not to push my opinions on others. My family is grown and I'm left with a wonderful hubby sharing life with me. I'd guess you'd say my passion is living that life to the fullest. Archives
