Next week it's in my plans to freeze 4 or 5 pizzas. There are very few foods that Hubby and I crave as go-to items in a pinch but pizzas are one of them. I'm getting tired of going to the grocery store and coming home in a dismal mood or angry because the pizza price has climbed or the pizzas seem to be getting smaller. The nice thing about store-bought pizzas is you can buy a few and stick them in the freezer and when you're hot and tired it takes 2 minutes to get them into the oven. So, I've decided to try my hand at homemade frozen pizzas. Hey, there are recipes all over the internet - surely to goodness I can figure out my own recipe for pizzas that will suit us to a "T"!!
Right now I'm headed into the kitchen to make some Bean Dip. The recipe is on my Recipes page. Then I'm going outside to pick squash and check on tomatoes. I THINK I've got yellow cherry tomatoes ripe!!! Yikes!!! Wouldn't that be wonderful? I'll get back to you all later.

There was a small assortment of vegetables for me to pick and I love it when there's not an overload of any one thing. Yellow squash is always somewhat abundant and then I got a couple zucchini and some cucumbers too! I think tonight I'm going to fry some zucchini and squash. I haven't fried any yet this year and even though they are somewhat caloric and not exactly the most healthy food - they are delicious. I'm saving some of the yellow squash for my oldest son. He says his squash didn't even come up. Man!!! Now that's a bona fide garden disaster!! The cherry tomatoes still have a little green on top. They'll be ready to pick in a couple days - maybe even tomorrow. I'm fixing a salad this week-end so tomatoes would be nice to have. |
