I made homemade bread today. I also made a big batch of egg salad from all those eggs I boiled up yesterday and it will taste perfectly luscious on toasted homemade bread. I made my regular bread before I realized that my sourdough bread will need to be fed tomorrow and so I got busy trying to decide what recipe I wanted to try with the starter. I think I'm going to be making French Bread. What I'd really like to do is get working on a recipe for Gluten Free Bread. I keep putting it off because I know how this generally goes. I make a loaf - maybe even 2 before I finally get it right - and ruin all the expensive ingredients it takes to make them and then I feel just terrible about wasting all the money for the ingredients. I just hate baking or cooking something so out of my comfort zone; but, I'm determined to learn how to make at least 1 good gluten free bread recipe.
I just received a notification from the place I ordered my strawberries and I am to expect them on the 12th of the month. Yep!! The 12th!!! As I look at my strawberry bed which is covered thoroughly with at least 4 inches of snow and ice I swallow hard and am already keeping my fingers crossed. THE 12TH!!!
I am so tired of typing. I've decided to make a small booklet entitled Medicinal Tinctures and put all the information I can find on each tincture that I have in my possession. Then I think at the back of the booklet I will have some pages that are entitled Problems and Curatives, pages entitled Recipe Blends and then I'm leaving multiple space for anything else that I might want to remember. This way, too, if something happens to me and someone in my family is interested, it will all be written down instead of just in my head. Right now I have 16 tinctures and really only a few blends that I make consistently. I'll probably want to put pill information in there as well . . . but this is going to take some time!! What I''m working on here has nothing to do with the use of herbs as food. Oh my gosh, I've got herbal recipe blends for cooking that I really ought to be sure are all in one place too. Geez, so much information about herbs. I LOVE IT!!!
