The rock that sits in our lake right off the point - you can see the point in my pictures. You’ll see the shelter house, then the fire ring off to the right, and just to the right of that, in the lake, there should be a rock; but in my latest pictures all you see is water. This morning you can see the bare tip of a rock appearing, which means that finally our overflow has gotten enough water out of the lake and it is starting to return to its normal level. When we see the complete top of the rock the lake will be at normal level. Gosh, there for awhile it was raining so much that the water was overflowing the lake bank! That's a lot of water!!
I have two main objectives this week. The first one is to get downstairs and clean out my cabinet that holds all my pictures. I’m not a picture person, never have been, but as I get older I find that my children and my grandchildren enjoy looking into the past. In my cabinet, for years, I have just sort of stuffed pictures in there telling myself that one day I would sort through them. It’s beginning to get out of control, so this week I’m at least going to go through all the pics and get them in presentable shape.
The second objective is going to be such fun. I am going to get into all my stash of seeds and find out what I need to order for the vegetable garden and also decide on what seeds and plants I might want to order for my herb garden. I’ve got a lot of seeds saved back so I’m hoping I won’t have to buy too terribly much. Once that is accomplished I can sit down and go through all my seed and plant catalogs and decide what to buy, but that will be for another week. For now, I just need to get my list ready.
I made turkey tettrazini yesterday and it was so good. I made 2 batches, one for last night and one for the freezer. We could have probably eaten more but we didn’t need it so I’m glad I divided it up. It kind of kept a lid on our eating. I opened a jar of pearsauce and it was a nice side for our small supper. My hubby was happy because he got to finish off his custard pie for dessert.
Yes, I said pearsauce, just like applesauce only made with pears. I have so very many pears and pearsauce is every bit as good as applesauce. Have any of you tried that? Check out my Tips and Tricks page for an interesting twist to pearsauce.
