It is majorly hot and muggy here today. My thermometer here at the house was registering 95 degrees. The heat is one thing but the mugginess is another entirely, and muggy it is! Spent most of last night in our big chair with one of my weather headaches so I feel rather secure in the fact that somebody in Indiana is going to get one whopping storm this evening!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's not us.
I planted about half of the marigolds I grew from seeds into the garden today and the rest I planted out by the shelter house. Then I went into the herb garden and worked in the basil section and the rosemary section and got them weeded and looking pretty good. I came back into the house and fixed hubby and me leftover spaghetti for our lunch.
After lunch we rested a little while and then we were both back at it. It was time to refill the hummer feeders with fresh sugar water which I had made last night. They've been buzzing around a lot more here lately and that's probably because a lot of my Spring flowers are now gone and the sugar water is looking better and better. Now is the time that I need to stay on top of keeping the feeders clean and filled with fresh water.
Time to pick the strawberries again too. I just got a quart or so but oh my they are so good!!
Of course, we had strawberries and shortcake for dessert. I do love those strawberries! Who would have thought I could tire of something so good but I'm about finished with eating strawberries for awhile. Those ones we froze will taste awful good this Winter but I've had all I care to eat for awhile.
