I've gotten so much done already today and there will be more yet this evening but I thought I'd post my blog a little earlier so I could keep my mind on what I'm supposed to be doing. I've already made a new batch of cough and cold syrup, an egg casserole and finished the laundry. I'm on a roll!!
I've been busy all morning getting gifts together for Christmas. Some of them for my friends and some for our kids. I just LOVE giving people presents at Christmas - anytime actually. For some reason it just fills my heart up. Of course, I don't always have expensive stuff to give or anything outrageously cool; but I try to give something from my heart without expecting anything in return. Sometimes it's something they like and sometimes not, but ALWAYS I just love giving it to them!! That's the one thing I've tried to teach my sons and I think they got it. I always tried to teach them that the perfect example of giving was the birth of baby Jesus. Imagine a gift to a lowly, disgusting, wayward, mean-spirited and sinful world and imagine now that the only gift that would truly fill their hearts and allow their souls to be reclaimed was the Son of God! Wow! That always makes me sit back and "think". Of course, I trusted in Christ many years ago so that feeling is no stranger to me but think of the people in the world who have no idea what they are missing! Think about the fact that they really don't get it. My friends, that doesn't make them stupid - lost - but not stupid. God still wants to give them his Perfect Gift. We mimic in our own minute ways the Spirit of Giving. I believe the one thing we need to remember most of all is to not relegate it to just Christmas. It's a magnificent act and feeling all year long!! AuthorMy name is Nina. Southern Indiana has been my home since 1952. I've been a legal secretary most of my adult life and for my leisure time I enjoy everything connected to the world of herbs and cooking is almost like a "fever". I am also quite opinionated but try not to push my opinions on others. My family is grown and I'm left with a wonderful hubby sharing life with me. I'd guess you'd say my passion is living that life to the fullest. Archives
