I am busting at the seams now, though, to do some outdoor cooking. I can’t wait for a free day and all is calm. Hubby is definitely going to have breakfast out at the fire pit!! I’m even more excited than I was now after a week-end of eating out in the open air. There’s just something about it - I can’t explain - you just have to try it for yourself.
By the way, check the Pictures Page out for the Lion's Mane Mushroom that my niece found. I am so jealous I can't even begin to tell you!! What a find!!
After we got home yesterday I went for a walk. No matter where I go or what I do - "There’s No Place Like Home"!!
When I got home from work today I had to try and finish getting the rest of the herbs off the drying racks and into jars. I’ve got the white potatoes put up but I need to get the sweet potatoes put away too. Then I’ll be able to move my van into the garage for the upcoming Winter. For years we went without a garage. Let me tell you, it is truly fine to get into your vehicle in the middle of Winter and it not be covered in ice and snow. No scraping the windshields and the inside of the vehicle warms up so fast. I think you can call me spoiled now. Go right ahead!!!
Hubby and I have been watching his old hunting dog for awhile now. He’s older and we realized he had lost most of his hearing a year or so ago and last year when they were out hunting he wasn’t coming back to Hubby when he called him and hubby knew for sure that Pete had lost most of his hearing because Pete always obeyed. Pete is not doing well, like, really not doing well. Hubby, though trying to act tough, is just really down. Pete was a friend, a close personal, loving friend. All Pete ever asked for was a little attention and he loved to have his ears pulled. Yes, I said pulled. We watch him now for his breathing is not right. We love him. He’s a fine friend, who never asked for anything but the opportunity to run and hunt with his "partner". Hubby is spending a great deal of time with him right now and that’s just fine with me.
