I've been going out every night and covering my tender vegetable plants to keep them from being a late night snack for the rabbits. We have two huge rabbits that I've seen for sure roaming around here so I'm keeping a close eye on the garden!
Also, has anyone noticed that in Southwestern Indiana this MUST be the breeding cycle for our biting midges, gnats, no-see-ums or whatever they are? They are eating us alive here!! Every year it happens. We have this wonderful Spring and I'm working like crazy outside and then BAM!!! these little buggers start biting and it goes for about 2 to 6 solid weeks and then seems to let up after that. Right now we're under siege. Are you?
It's hot out today, and no, I'm not complaining, but it has spurred me on to make some herbal teas. When it's hot out like this we get so tired of drinking plain water. Water is good for you but herb tea would be even better!! So I think I'll head on out to the herb garden after a bit while the last load of laundry is in the dryer and pick some tea herbs. Hmmmm, what sounds good??
We all went fishing this week and tonight we're having a feast!! Hubby demanded crinkle fries which cannot be good for you; but since he deep-fries everything and I just get everything together and bread it all, he always gets his crinkle fries. We're also frying up the mushrooms I found here a couple weeks ago. Oh what a supper it's going to be!!
