It's supposed to get up to 75 degrees today! Can you believe it? I was going to make pizzas for the freezer today but with this kind of weather I think I'll put it off another day or two and do what I can outside. This weather is just too good for staying in the house.

I finished cleaning the area around the shelter house and went to work on the garden outside my kitchen. I've had some lemon thyme in the kitchen garden now for 13 years and to be honest it was probably 10 years old already when I transplanted it here. It finally bit the dust this past Winter. I'm definitely going to miss it. It was not only used prolifically in my cooking, it was just flat out beautiful when it bloomed!! This is one plant I will definitely replace. I have some out in my herb garden but it was awfully handy having it right outside my door. I also cut back the sage too. It made it through the Winter but by the looks of it, not too well. It's kind of hard to tell because, as you know, sage is a woody perennial and looks can be deceiving early on.
I quit working early and enjoyed the evening on the deck watching all the robins and other birds flying around. It just seems like overnight all the birds have flown in and are enjoying the weather as much as we are. Our Purple Martin Scout came in today. He was a whole week early and we didn't have his house ready for him. I'm hoping he still comes home to us and brings his family with him. We're going to put the house up tomorrow just in case he's still around. This is the first time we haven't had the house up in time so I am a little worried.
The lake is teeming with fish and it's got me dreaming about some deep-fried fish. Mmmmm, doesn't that sound good?!!! I think I need to take a little time and do some fishing real soon.
