My plans were to clean the chicken coup real good next week because my chickens come the following week. I was hoping by then it would be a little warmer but it doesn't look like it's going to be all that comfy. Oh well, that's the way it goes. I'm starting to get a little excited about raising chickens. Hubby even said he would make me a portable coup to drag around the field so that the chickens could graze free without the threat of predators. This will make it ever so convenient as well for our garden. We can set them to scratching up our garden this Spring. Oh, I am just so excited!!
I haven't the foggiest what I'll be doing today. I've got a load of old rags for hubby in the washer already and am going back to the bedroom to make our bed and then . . .

I felt like running today, no not the 2-legged running, the running around shopping kind. I just needed so desperately to get out of the house and I did have a few things I needed to pick up so away I went. I got all the birthday cards I needed for my brothers' birthdays, I got a thimble because I've decided to take up a little sewing, (mind you, I hate sewing) and my son had been trying to get me to bake him a cherry pie so I went to pick up a frozen pie. I just absolutely did not want to bake a cherry pie. OH MY GOSH!!! Do you know how much frozen, ready-to-bake cherry pies are? My jaw nearly dropped to the floor. The cheapest one I could find was $7!!!! Seven Dollars I tell you!! And yes, I bought one but it will be the last one I ever buy. I'm good for one - but the next one will be homemade or not at all. Who knew. I've not bought pies or cakes in so long I was just floored!! Oh well, live and learn!!
