It's amazing the difference 2 weeks has made to the countryside here in Southern Indiana. Everything is glowing with reds, oranges, and yellows. The pecan trees that were once a brilliant green are yellow now and leaves are beginning to fall everywhere!! It's Autumn and it's lovely. Last night hubby built a fire about 3:00 p.m. and he kept that fire going the whole evening. We went out and fished, sat around the fire pit, drank hot tea and sat and talked about big and little things that were so effecting our lives. Sometimes there are those moments in a couple's life that belong only to them and only they can perfectly understand the deep feelings and thoughts - and last night we shared them. Those are times of deep "comfort". It was made all the more wonderful sharing that time under the deep blue skies, beside a warm fire watching the fish kissing the face of the lake. Just one of those evenings.
This morning the alarm went off and I was startled awake!! Goodness, I just wasn't ready to rise and shine! We both crawled out of bed and slowly made our way to the coffee pot. So much to do today but I'm really excited about it all. I wish you could have seen my hibiscus!!! It finally bloomed. Now each night when I go to bed I keep my fingers crossed that it doesn't frost so I will be able to get some seed from the plant. I also had my first fig yesterday. I popped that baby right in my mouth!! I simply adore figs! I really didn't think there would be any this year . . . but having just one was worth the wait. Roses are still trying to bloom and the zinnias are still arrayed in full color.
