I think if I were to fix buds again, and I will, I would add them to a pot of greens. It would be almost like turnip greens with diced turnips. Perhaps I'll fix a pot of lambs quarter greens and add dandelion buds. Now that would be delicious!! A small side of buds to go with steak and scalloped potatoes would be the berries or even as a side to fried chicken and mashed potatoes. When I fixed them I added salt and pepper but after trying them I sprinkled them with garlic salt. They are awesome with garlic which leads me to believe that they might be excellent stir-fried with garlic cloves. I can also pictures them mixed with buttered noodles and no one would even realize they were eating dandelion buds! There are some real possibilities out there. I'm wondering if they would be good deep-fried with fish too. That's fattening but it sounds good to me. Anything green that you would be sauteing for dinner would not be hurt by the addition of dandelion buds. They're really not bad!!
Now, off to figure out how to cook dandelion flowers!!!
