I suppose it's all in the perspective one takes in these adventures. It was indeed a lot of hard work but I also learned I can do it. Sometimes knowing you "can" is all in the world you really needed. All that being said - I've still quite a bit to do. I have to put the Shrimp Shooters together, make the cream cheese filling for the mini-quiches, pipe it in and put the sauce over them. I also have to cut a bunch of spearmint for decorating the quiches, lemon verbena for decorating the plates on the tables and chives for the shrimp shooters. Then I'll shower, get ready and load. By the way, did you notice my choice of herbs. Spearmint leaves will be used to decorate each and every mini-quiche and the lemon verbena is my choice for decorating the plates. Lemon Verbena has a wonderful clean, lemony fragrance but what's exceptional about it is over a period of a couple hours it will hold up and not become limp. I thought of many other herbs but it was my choice. I had to be careful what herbs I put in the shooters as well. If you were to use, for instance, lemon balm or stems of mint they would be dragging and limp in no time. Rosemary and parsley are other good ones that can hold up for awhile.
Can you tell from my blog how mentally fogged I feel. Seems to me I can't type a sentence correctly or bring my thoughts together too clearly this morning. Anyway, I'll try to remember to take some pictures tonight so you can see how everything ended up looking. I'll tell you all about it Monday.
Today - it's raining again. The garden is busting at the seams with produce and beginning Monday I've got to start the whole preserving process. I need to be making jellies and jams, shredding zucchini, freezing broccoli, cabbage and cauliflower, canning potatoes, etc. The next few weeks will be chock full of garden input so get ready!!
I also have to get my herb garden caught up. It's sort of gone to the wayside the last couple weeks while I prepared for the reception and I've got a lot of drying I need to be doing . . . AND WEEDING!!!
I know this is an early blog today but I have an immense and very busy schedule. Hope your day goes well and life is good to you. See Ya!!
