Yesterday while Hubby was cleaning pheasant I went out to the barn, brought the horses in, put them up in their stalls, and fed them. While they were eating I swept the chicken coop out and dreamed. I can really handle a day like yesterday. The weather was perfect. I'm a little apprehensive about the really, really cold weather to come - guarantee it won't be nearly as pleasant!! LOL
Then last night Hubby built us a fire and we sat outside and talked for quite awhile about "things", you know - life stuff. It was a nice talk to have, nothing big, but a talk with both people in total understanding and just a nice vocal acknowledgment of our deep commitment to each other and to the life we live. I can't help but say that I am so blessed to have this man in my life.
It's been a long day at the office. I was busy all day long and I do mean really busy. It was almost like the old days. I loved it . . . but it's always good to come home. Tonight we're having leftovers one more time before I say good-bye to them!! Everything else I either froze or am putting together with something else for a completely different meal, but tonight we are having plain old leftover turkey, sage dressing, salad and fruit. Tomorrow we're having anything but turkey!!!!
I did manage to can 7 quart of turkey bone broth and freeze 2 quart. Oh, it was so good, you could drink it straight from the jar!! In fact, often when it gets really cold outside I will drink broth just like I would a cup of tea. It's extremely tasty and good for you too!! It is full of vitamins and minerals and that makes it hard to beat! I'm sure a lot of it will go into homemade tomato soup, chili, vegetable soup, etc. but it really is great tasting straight up!
