I am considering the next time making freezer jam. Maybe the raspberries would hold up better. I don't know. I've never tried. Any of you out there have any advice to give me?

Now to the potatoes. I decided I wanted to can our short row of red potatoes. I don't know why, I just got this idea in my head and went to my canning book and found that people have been canning potatoes for a long time. I just hadn't done it yet . . . so we now have canned potatoes. I've put a picture of them on my Pictures Page.
This morning I knew I was going to be busy so I put a couple pheasant in the crock pot and this afternoon went out and picked some green beans, and after I got them cooked up I threw in some potatoes and onions, made some gravy and that was supper. I had some grapes out for something cool and the meal really was pretty good! After supper I put a bunch of the bones and meat from the pheasants into a big pan and a bunch of leftover vegetables that I had in the frig, along with the leftover gravy and green beans and the some of the kale I cut yesterday. I'm going to make some more broth for this Winter.
It's been a busy day and tomorrow looks to be just as busy. I didn't realize my green beans were ready so I plan on doing the beans on Friday. Never fails, when it rains it pours.
