I think what's bothering me really is that hubby and I are at that pivotal stage in our lives where we're still healthy but everyone else seems to be coming down with something that naturally comes with the aging process. Yes, we are more tired and have more aches and pains but healthwise we're fairly good to go at this point. But . . . you can't ignore the fact that you're growing older and will not always be as strong and healthy. It's a difficult process to sift through because you don't want to be those whiny people who push themselves into old age before they are there or the kind of people that are too blamed lazy to get up and move and use old age as an excuse . . . and then there's the question of "what is old age" and what have we turned old age into. Are we to just live happily ever after sitting in a rocking chair or are we to be living out our old age? Is there a middle ground or has society chosen how we are to behave in our old age? These are some of the mental questions I ask myself. If I can perhaps begin to answer those maybe I can figure out how to navigate the rest of the problems, or maybe not. I've always figured that I'd know when the time came but being the preparedness kind of people that hubby and I are - it's so scary.
Any of you have thoughts on this subject? I could use some input, cause I can only take so many 4:00 a.m. mornings!!!!! LOL!!
Tomorrow is Father's Day - Courage and Blessings to All the Dads of the World:
"Do not be terrified; do not be afraid of them. The LORD your God, who is going before you, will fight for you, as he did for you in Egypt, before your very eyes, and in the desert. There you saw how the LORD your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place. Deuteronomy 1:29-31 NIV
HAPPY FATHERS DAY!
