There was not a whole lot going on today. I did go out on my lunch hour and do a little birthday shopping for my daughter-in-law. She asked for 2 things and I've just got to find something more for her. She's a good daughter-in-law and I wish I could find something that would show how much I appreciate her.
I probably am typing very disjointed thoughts tonight. I've been getting up and going to the window with the binoculars and watching 4 wild turkeys. Three of them are on one side of the fence and 1 is on the other and she's is so frustrated. She just keeps walking back and forth, back and forth. How could she be so dumb?!!! Then finally she takes wing and joins the other three. Geez! Animals are strange!! Deer are weird too. They will take the path of least resistance even if it might take them extra distance to get to their destination. Just so strange!
Figs have become my most loved fruit. There's just something about them that suits my taste buds to a "T"!!
See the bag too? That's dehydrated figs that I've put in a baggie and thrown in the freezer. I keep teasing hubby telling him that they are future Fig Newtons!! I AM going to try to make some too this Winter. Wouldn't that be cool?
I did drop by the neighborhood farm market on my way home from work and bought 5 pounds of purple plums. That's really not very many and I'll probably go back and get another 5 pounds but when I can get them I like to can a few pints, just because. When I was growing up we had 3 or 4 plum trees on our 30-acre farm. One was a purple plum and the other 3 were called Green Gage Plums. From that time forth I've been a fan of plums. I've helped can my fair share and that can get really old but once you've learned how good they are you never quite get over the craving. Green Gage Plums made the best preserves in the whole world!!!!
