I wrote those two top sentences this morning and then wrote an entire paragraph and deleted it. I find that I cannot pen the words properly to extend to you how I feel about world events - so I won't . . . but folks, we'd better wake up . . . quickly!!!

Yesterday Hubby and I defrosted our freezer. It had been awhile and wow!!! I have a chest freezer and when I got to the very bottom I found all those bags of squash that I had saved "just in case" we might need them. Oh my goodness!! There was enough squash to feed an army - OLD stuff my friends!! I must remind myself to be more vigilant about checking my freezer from now on, whether it needs defrosting or not. I had squash from 2011 hidden down there, which frankly, didn't hurt anyone's feelings in my household since squash is not our favorite food; but it's just the idea that it's been in my freezer all this time taking up space!! I spent a lot of yesterday looking at hubby, laughing and saying, "Well, look at it this way, if we lost electricity the food in the freezer would have stayed frozen longer because of all the frozen squash!" I don't think he bought it! Hubby has informed me that I should be defrosting at least every other year and he's probably correct(but I didn't tell him that). Anyway, it's now a very cleaned out, organized and not nearly-so-full freezer and I'm out of the doghouse for at least another 4 or 5 years!!!

I've been busy the last few days cleaning and organizing. I have a habit of printing out anything I look up on the computer that I think is important, because I want to have the information in hand - just in case. I also have a bad habit of stacking all this paperwork on the cabinet, under the bed and on shelves, with good intentions of cataloging it for future reference. Two very, very bad habits! LOL!! I've been going around the house and collecting instructions, how-to's, recipes, etc. and have several neatly stacked piles, at this point. For the next several days I intend to catalog all this information! WOE IS ME!!! Not a job I'm looking forward to. The bottom line though is, what good will all this fantastic information be to me if I cannot find it? I need to be sure I can access it and access it quickly. Really now - think about it. How many times have you said, "I know it's around here somewhere. I've just got to find it." Need I say more?
