Anyway, I came upstairs feeling just terrible about not having enough - so I'm going outside, do some weed-eating in my herb garden, while I still have some energy, and then I'm coming in and making my boy some tea. He's been waiting so patiently on his pathetic Mother to do her thing!!! So I gotta do my thing!!!! But I'm sending him the tabs immediately, ASAP, before I forget AGAIN!!!!

While I was out weed-eating I also deadheaded the marigolds and cut back the zinnias. They are still blooming prolifically and are quite beautiful. There was only one hibiscus sabdariffa (Roselle) plant that survived this year and it has little buds all over it. Keep your fingers crossed!! Hopefully, it will bloom and I will scarf up those seeds for next year because I am completely out!! I can barely live without that herb for my teas in the Wintertime. The problem I have is it didn't take off growing well until later than usual and it needs a long Summer to produce. Also, the fig tree survived but is more like a bush this year. It has quite a few green figs on it but I just don't think there's going to be enough Summer left for them to ripen. The harsh Winter caused it to be late sprouting so I may have to wait for next year. I'm quietly accepting the plight of some of these herbs and fruits considering I lost so many plants this last year. I'll take what I can get!!! I cut back a lot of stevia for drying and will let the rest go to seed. I also checked on my rosemary plants. I have never, ever been able to winter-over rosemary and each year have to buy plants. You'd think after 40-some odd years I could keep rosemary but as soon as I bring it in I have to watch the slow death of my beautiful plant - so later today I'll probably be cutting that back as well. I will mulch everything heavily for there have been some years when the Winters have been mild enough that I've been able to leave them outside - but that's definitely NOT what they are calling for this Winter!
