I worked really hard at the office yesterday. The lady that comes in to answer the phone, make up my new files and do the filing has been out on medical leave. While I'm quite up to doing her jobs, that along with methodically working on getting the office in shape to shut down by the end of the year, leaves me with plenty to do and I definitely had plenty yesterday!! I was pretty worn out by the time I got home and after fixing supper hubby suggested I just curl up on the couch and rest - and that's exactly what I did!
So today is whoppin' full of things to do. There are days when I wake up and feel like I'm hanging on for the ride of my life!! This is one of them. It's actually sort of exciting when you think about it and I'm appreciative of the health and the capabilities and the desire that I'm still left with. So - instead of talking about it - it's "on with the show"!!!
------------------------------
It's 9:45 a.m. and the sauerkraut is canned and safely stashed away in the basement for 6 weeks. If you're interested in the process go to my Pictures Page and the recipe is on my Recipes Page already. Now I'm off to the garden to plant some Fall seeds.
----------------------------
Well, I wasn't going to be blogging quite this quickly but oh my, I'm breathing hard and need to stop a minute. I got everything planted - zucchini, red beets, golden beets, assorted lettuces, spinach, arugula and cilantro. Then I decided to gather tomatoes. That's why I'm breathing hard!!! Who knew?!!! I've just finished carrying 2 bushels of tomatoes up to the house and there's a whole lot more that will be ready Friday. I knew I had planted way too many but last year was a bad year, though I probably was the only person for miles around that actually had tomatoes, and I was going to make sure I had plenty this year. I knew 28 plants was a lot but I never dreamed that it would rain perfectly and the tomatoes would produce so well, and that's with the animals feasting too! I can see my husband now, shaking his head and grinning, getting ready to say, "you planted them!" Yikes!!
I am cooking down the tomato sauce and things are under control here. I'm not nearly finished yet but I've marked off a couple items on my Things To Do list and that's a couple items gone!! Hubby is going to grill some chicken breasts and squash for supper and we'll add some sliced tomatoes as a side. Watermelon is for dessert!! I LOVE watermelon! Have a nice evening!
