I went out to the garden this morning and cut the butternut squash off the vines and have them laying out to harden off. There are 3 or 4 more out there that are not ripe yet but are really good looking ones. I'll get them later. I really didn't have too very many butternut squash this year. I actually didn't want as many as last year. Some of the squash wasn't used and I hate waste. I'd rather go on the slight side rather than glut and waste. I was going to cut the crookneck pumpkins but they were not quite ready yet. The vines had not hardened. There was only 1 pumpkin and 1 crookneck ready.

They say this is the last night for the super moon. My goodness it was beautiful last night and I will be watching the sky tonight. What makes it super? It's when a full or new moon coincides with perigee — the moon's closest point to Earth in its orbit. Basically, the moon will appear just a bit bigger and brighter than usual in the night sky. I honestly don't understand it all, I just know it's beautiful and I appreciate beautiful!! I think I'm going to try and talk hubby into starting a fire out by the lake. Wouldn't this be a fantastic night to sit out under the stars?
