I'm only typing my blog now because I've finally got a down moment and am at the end of my rope and for some reason typing my blog has a tendency to sort of calm me.
After going down and throwing a load of laundry in the washer, coming back upstairs, making the beds and straightening the house - I went back downstairs to put another load in the washer. I had thrown a load brought with me on the previous trip on the floor. After I put the load from the washer into the dryer and bent down to pick the clothes up and put them in the washer I said to self, "What the heck?!" Some of the clothes were wet. Then I actually opened my eyes and found that not only were the clothes wet - only one step to my left and I would be in about 3 inches of water. Yep both the laundry room and the herb kitchen along with my kitchen closet were flooded. I first figured that perhaps it was the big container of water I had hidden in the closet. (Oh my gosh, hubby's going to kill me!!! He's told me to get that out of there numerous times!) But nope - that wasn't it. (But it is out of there now!!) I then set about grappling with the water situation and realized after I had about a gazillion towels laid down that perhaps I should at least let Hubby know what was going on. I called him at work, which I really didn't want to do, but . . .
Hubby came home and we discovered that somewhere along our pipes we're backed up in the basement. Hubby checked everything and did everything he possibly could but still backed up. Goodness, we even had to call a plumber. Aghhh!!!! I don't want to pay a plumber!!! But, we will eventually need to flush commodes, do laundry, dishes and take showers so call we did. Man!!
We're in the waiting process now. He said he'd be right out. I'm just sick. I knew I needed to clean the basement before Thanksgiving - but this isn't exactly the scenario of my dreams!!!
