Oh, I wanted to tell you . . . last night I sliced up a whole bunch of red peppers. I ended up with 4 quarts tucked away in the freezer. I also had enough peppers for two batches of pimiento cheese. I froze those in the freezer too. I am disappointed that my pimiento peppers did so poorly but 2 small batches is better than no batches, right?
I also went out and changed up the furniture on the deck. I moved the umbrella table and chairs more to the front and put my lounge chair in the corner. It left a nice space in the center of the deck where we can grill, or as I told Hubby, where we could dance. I think he did an eye-roll!!

Today I did something I've been wanting to do for my Hubby for awhile now, make a Pipe Smoking Blend. I went downstairs to see if the mullein and marshmallow were both dried. It's really a different feel. I don't know how many of you have ever dried these two but they are so soft and have a different feel than the crispiness of say, peppermint. But they felt dry to me. I took them over and chopped some of the leaves up of each and put them together with some raspberry leaf I had dried earlier, some damiana and skullcap. This is from a recipe I got off the Rose Mountain Herb site for a Pipe Smoking Blend. Hubby is a pipe smoker and while I have no doubt he will turn his nose up at my blend - I just had to try. If he likes it I'll probably just pass out from total surprise!! But we'll see how it turns out and I'll let you know what he says.
