Today I have to go get my hair trimmed, go to the bank, etc. This will definitely interrupt my well-laid plans and mess with my day but I can't get out into the garden for more tomatoes anyway so that's okay. I have a few tomatoes sitting out on my deck that I need to use right away. I'll have enough time to bring those in this morning and cook up a small batch of spaghetti sauce for supper and tomorrow I'll do all the rest of tomatoes.
It's wonderful to have fresh herbs when I cook like this. It feels so "pioneer-ish" to trip out to the garden and pick my own fresh oregano, thyme, parsley, basil, chives and all those other herbs one uses in spaghetti sauce. It's also exciting to know that you've grown your own onions, hot peppers and garlic! As you can tell, it doesn't take much to excite me!! Just think though, the only thing I didn't grow was the salt, pepper and olive oil!!!

I ended up with 2 quarts of spaghetti sauce and decided to hold off making spaghetti and have the vegetable soup for supper that I had leftover from yesterday. Hubby came home not feeling too great and I knew that soup would be much better on his stomach.
My hair? The trim was a disaster!! I was so discouraged!!! Oh well, thank goodness hair grows!
I did finally get out in the garden to pick more tomatoes. It was damp but you could still walk in it. While I was out there I picked 5 more squash, a bag of kale, 4 green peppers and more jalapenos!! I am overrun with veggies right now!! I'll get it all taken care of tomorrow - tonight I am going to baby hubby. He's just not acting right. I think he's coming down with the flu. Ah-hah, herb medicine woman to the rescue!!!!!
