There are 2 geese on the lake this morning and they seemed perfectly suited to glide across the stillness of the lake. They dip and pop up pretending not to notice the insertion of a human into their magnificent world. Soon they tire of swimming away to what they feel is a safer place and fly up, making such a noise. Have you ever been right under a flock of geese flying overhead? It is amazing to just listen to them working their wings. It's a sound I'd never paid much attention to until I moved here. In fact until I moved here I don't think I ever just stood still and listened to the intense strength and movement of their wings. It's an awesome sound, at least to me! As I continued on around the lake I heard the sound of constant jack hammering coming from the property next to me. There are a lot of dead trees and the sound was not unfamiliar to me. A huge pileated woodpecker was beating an old dead tree to death. The woodpecker was so intent he never even bothered to notice me. I certainly hope he's rewarded for his efforts. I passed on around the lake and listened to cardinals talking back and forth and looked up to see two bluebirds playing around the old Rose of Sharon. It's always good to see bluebirds. I went out to the herb garden to just take a peek at my rosemary to see if it, by any chance, was still alive. It had been hit, you could tell by how the tips were darker, but it is still hanging on. I could see multiple deer hoof prints all throughout my garden. They have been noodling around trying to find dinner. There is one very busy mole that's been digging all over the place, at least I hope it's only one. I'll certainly have to deal with him this Spring!! I filled my birdfeeders again and gave the horses the last of our pears. That's not too bad, huh? Pears in the middle of February!! I am so at peace right now. Have I told you how much I enjoy this place?

I painted garden ornaments for 3-1/2 hours today and am finally seeing a light at the end of the tunnel but still have quite a bit to do. Had to put stuff up, comb my hair and put a little make-up on to run to the store and pick up some milk, bananas and a few other items. I wasn't thinking when I decided to make the Custard Pie. It will take most of my milk.
I will clean house this evening, make 2 pies, and some Poor Man's Vegetable Soup for lunch after church tomorrow. I have to mend a pair of pants, fix supper, and I'm going to try and finish another book I've been reading. This day just doesn't seem to hold quite enough hours for me. But it's been a good one.
Have a nice Sunday and we'll talk again on Monday. See Ya.
