I ran across a baby robin as I walked out to the herb garden. I just went around it the best I could and went into the garden and sat down on my bench but Mamma Robin was so loud and would not stop yelling that I finally just got up and left. I was evidently driving her nuts being so close to her baby.
I sat out on the back deck for awhile and made some notes for the day. I've got a lot to do. A lot!!! First I went out to the freezer and got a chuck roast out to thaw. I want to prepare an old-fashioned meal this evening and I thought what better than a pot roast, potatoes, carrots and onion, green beans, pear sauce and biscuits. Putting the roast, potatoes, onions and carrots all in a big pot and putting it in the oven will be so tasty and easy but it will warm up the house and I've got to do some cleaning and other work inside so perhaps I should put it in the crock pot. Then right before I am ready to set the table I'll put the roast in the oven with the biscuits and brown the roast a little while I'm making gravy. At least the house won't be so hot. Yep, that's what I'm going to do.
You've also probably recognized that I'm typing my blog in the morning today. I've got to get everything together for my guests tomorrow. It's so exciting!! I love having company - and I love cooking - and I love laughing and Saturday I'll get to enjoy all three. Can't beat that!!! So anyway, I may be back in a little while with some more of my day but if not, tomorrow after everyone goes home I'll let you know all about my day!!! See Ya.
