pure hard work outdoors, which means if I have any desire to lose more weight I will have to double my efforts!!! Not too excited about that!!! I'm trying so very, very hard to remember "healthy lifestyle" not "diet". I want to keep getting on the scale every Monday morning because I think it keeps me more aware. I need to be reminded to watch my eating habits so while this is not a weight game - it's helpful for me personally. I'm going to continue marking my calendar each Monday and reporting in to my sister. We are going to look so-o-o good when we go to that little French Restaurant in Lexington - at least that's what I keep telling myself!!!
I transplanted some strawberry plants yesterday afternoon. Last year was the first year for the strawberries and we were very careful to pick off any blooms so that the plants would be strengthened. Then the drought set in and we lost
about a third of our plants. I did discover though that the strawberries which survived seemed to send runners to the exterior of the bed where the wooden border is and obviously where there was probably more moisture and/or shade. Anyway, we had a whole lot of strawberry runners jammed in next to the border and I dug those up and transplanted them. We just might have some strawberries after all this year. The ones I’ve got look pretty healthy. Oh, I do hope so. There’s nothing like great big fresh, juicy strawberries!!
Hey gang, guess what?!!! I will have been married 39 years on Friday. My goodness, that’s longer than I ever expected to live. Who knew that time would fly by so quickly. You don’t really think you’ll get older when you’re young or that someday you’ll be an "old" married couple. Then one day you’re sitting beside your husband and you look over at him and you realize, just out of the blue, that his hair is white!! Honestly, cross my fingers, I still see him just as he always was, brown haired and blue eyed. To any of you who might wonder if marriage is worth it - - - it is. It’s work, anything worth having is, but it’s worth it.
One more update - I walked in the door after work and my husband met me grinning from ear to ear. We have Purple Martins!!!! I just grabbed him and hugged him and ran to the window. We have 2 beautiful pair of Purple Martins. The sound of their voices is music to our ears. I've got a picture of one of them sitting on their own private lanai.
