Anyway, afterwards we went back to their house and had dinner and Papaw got to hear his little ones sing Happy Birthday to him. Granny was none too happy about one thing though. I put my arms out for my littlest one and she flew right by me into the lap of her Papaw. Oh, I had such a jealousy flare-up it wasn’t even funny! Don’t think for an instant that Papaw wasn’t beside himself with glee!!!
We got home and hubby went to feed the horses and I started making the two dishes I planned on taking to herb club. The bean dip turned out better than average but something went awry with the Pecan Tarts. I’m pretty sure I filled the tart shells too full and they bubbled out and over and just looked terrible by the time I got them out of the pan. Hubby was circling like a chicken hawk though. I told him I just couldn’t take those things to herb club. They looked terrible!! He never batted an eye. He just said, "You’re not taking any of them?" I told him no and the look on his face was like "Whoa!" "All for me?!" He’s so funny.
I can’t wait for herb club tonight. It’s always such a joy to gather with people of like mind, at least when it comes to herbs!! We have such a wide variety of people from all walks of life in our club and it just goes to show that there are some really genuine interests in people’s lives that transcend our positions in life and it’s a pretty wonderful opportunity for people to get to know other people for who they truly are. For our club - food and herbs seem to do the trick!!

It’s late now and I’m tired. I just got home from herb club, gave hubby a hug and sat down to type my blog. It was a wonderful evening but it’s always good to be back on the "ranch" safe and sound!
