We planted the Boomerang Lilac Bush this afternoon. It will be beautiful where we put it. We needed something there and it’s perfect.
When I got home from work our entire yard had been mowed and the garden was tilled and stood ready for planting. My husband had worked the entire day outside and he had worked hard. He was really looking tired so I made him some pancakes and fried up some bacon. This is one of his favorite meals to eat and he truly enjoyed his supper. As for me, I’m trying the "fast-2 days/eat normal-5 days" routine and I’ve decided to fast Tuesdays and Thursdays so I just had a cup of homemade tomato soup and some plain celery. The chiropractor down the hall from my office has given me some information he received regarding this particular way of eating and he noted from literature he had been reading that in mice, it actually allowed them to live longer before contracting alzheimers/dementia. He says it’s like exercising the muscles in the brain, possibly growing brain cells. He says it tends to make your cholesterol lower and it also helps your blood pressure and blood sugar levels, plus it’s something that a person can actually do and is especially beneficial for those like me, who truly love eating! LOL!!
I realize I’m not really explaining all he said very well; but since my family has a history of alzheimers I am constantly looking for new information. I looked up what I could find online and I’ve decided it certainly can’t hurt me. The chiropractor has been fasting 2 days a week eating only 600 calories on those 2 days(500 for women) for 2 months and he said he’s never felt better in his life!! I also realize that fasting is Biblical. Anyway, I’m going to try it and see.
Anyway, after dinner we went back out into the garden and we replanted carrots, parsnips and then set out the tomato cages to see how much room I was going to have to see how many tomato plants I could plant. It looks as though there's enough room to plant 28 tomatoes. If that isn't enough - well - tough!! I'm not planting anymore than that!! I am so excited to just be planting that many!! Hubby was tired and he has to work tomorrow so we threw in the towel for the evening. So tomorrow I will make our hills and plant tomatoes, peppers and eggplant. All that will be left are sweet potatoes and we will plant those the first week of June. I LOVE GARDENING!!!
