Today is going to be such fun. I'm going to make hand lotions and body butters. I've made simple salves but I've not gotten into body lotions. I've got recipes of all kinds but I just need to decide on which ones to try first.
I started with a grease-less hand lotion. I'm here to tell you when they say that they recommend a Vitamix blender I'm assuming it's because it probably has more power than my blender which is about 30 years old or more. Mine is probably considered antique. Heck, I rarely use my blender so I've never needed to upgrade. I make Custard Pie with it, use it when I'm mixing together sorbets, and an occasional juice mixture, but that's about it. Anyway, my blender was not sufficient and between the fact that I had no idea what I was doing and using inferior equipment, I ended up with a great lotion-only it was on my counters, my cabinets, my floor, my shirt, my face and last but not least splattered all through my hair. Hey, not everybody can make a lotion that spreads EVERYWHERE!!!!
After taking several deep breaths I tried another new recipe. The last recipe was scented with lavender and frankly, at this moment, I don't particularly care to smell any more lavender. So I decided this one would be scented with peppermint. I made a body butter and it turned out perfectly and actually went into the container instead of onto the person preparing it. LOL!!
