I'm doing laundry again today trying to stay caught up because tomorrow I start to work at the clothing retail store and I'm rather excited about doing so. I'm trying to keep things really low-key because to be honest, I don't know how it's all going to work out and I refuse to let anything here at home slide. If I've learned anything in the past two years of working only at home it's that "home is first", and that's that. When I was younger I didn't put a very high premium on being a homemaker like I feel I should, but over the years I've come to realize and know now the importance of this job.
I spent a good portion of the day mowing. I knew Hubby and I would be tired after we got in from mowing so I put some pork and sauerkraut in the crockpot and had already cut up some potatoes and had them sitting in salted water ready to boil for mashed potatoes. A couple weeks ago I had brought in 2 green, yellow tomatoes and they had slowly, over time turned that beautiful mellow yellow so I slipped them in the refrigerator this morning since we like our sliced tomatoes cold. I'll serve those up on the side. I have chunks of mozzarella cheese in some herbed olive oil in the refrigerator so I am getting that out for an appetizer before dinner.
The house is smelling so-o-o good. I love pork and sauerkraut and can't wait for supper!!
