Tonight is herb club and I have all my duckies in a row. I’ve just got to get them loaded in the van to take to the office. Herb club is at 7:00 and there’s no way I’m going to drive all the way home, considering I’d have 15 minutes and have to turn around and drive back; so I’m staying in after work. I made Hibiscus Lemonade last night and it is really delicious. Went out and picked spearmint to put in the lemonade so that’s marked off my list. I put ice in the cooler and put the lemonade in along with the mozerella cheese for the insalata caprese. While I was out picking spearmint I cut a bunch of basil as well. So, with the bag of tomatoes, olive oil, basalmic vinegar, cheese and basil, 2 loaves of bread and a wood board and knife for slicing I can mark that off. Last night I also made a cheeseball and I put it in the cooler too. Crackers are in a bag and the dishes to serve everything are packed. I think I’m ready. This has turned into a much bigger deal than anticipated!! But it will be tasty.
I won’t get home tonight until about 9:00 p.m. so my blog will be published rather late.
Yesterday, after church we got home and I fried up some burgers and made a macaroni salad and neither of us did a whole lot the rest of the day. I did go out and pick some sweet gum balls off our tree and tinctured them. I’ve come across some information that blew my mind - regarding Tameflu, the immunization for bird and/or swine flu. I’m going to do a little more research and will let you know all about it when I have a little more time to get everything together. I’m about to burst at the seams but I don’t want to be vague so I will wait until I feel like I’m giving you adequate information.
I also went out and checked on the fig tree. I had 4 figs that were ready but left them on the tree. They can stand another day. Meanwhile, I’m watching my tree like a hawk!! I don’t want to let even one of those babies go to waste.
Herb Club refreshments were a hit I think. The cakes that one of the other members brought were just the berries. She also brought one of those cheeseballs with chip beef in it. Yum!! The other member on our team brought 2 different kinds of homemade salsa and chips. Everything was pretty doggone tasty but I think what was most impressive were all the colors. It was an absolute feast for the eyes.
It's 9:55 p.m. so I'm signing off. I've been home for 20 minutes and I'm tired. Bye.
