Today I'm freezing up what nuts and candies I have left in the house. We certainly don't need them and my husband and I are both feeling the effects of eating way too much!!!! He was the one that suggested I freeze what I could and when he suggests it you know he's completely satiated. Thank goodness!!!! I can't freeze the chocolate covered cherries with the liquid centers because the liquid centers aren't the same when you thaw them out so they will have to be eaten here soon; but all the chocolate covered nuts and the spicy nuts are headed for the deep freeze. I've got about 2 pounds of fudge left and that will have to stay out too, I think. Have any of you ever put fudge in the freezer? Does it freeze well or not? Let me know - I really have never tried it. I don't usually have any left over. The lady who delivers our mail is on vacation and a new mail lady came by and delivered our mail . . . she made the mistake of responding affirmatively to my question, "Do you like fudge?" So, I still have fudge but not nearly as much.
Oh, and I did make Horehound Cough Drops today!! I'm sitting here patting myself on the back and telling myself what a dandy job I did!!! They were so pretty. They looked like those flat marbles you buy now in the stores only they were a shiny brown. At least I know now what I did wrong the last time. It took so long for the syrup to reach 300 degrees that the last time, I thought my thermometer was broken. Nope, it really just takes awhile. I knew this thermometer was okay and patiently waited - the results were quite nice!!!
I suppose I should say good evening and let you get off here but somebody PLEASE if you know of a way to freeze fudge let me know!!!!!! See Ya!
