Speaking of crazy - I have spent the whole day thinking this was the 4th Monday of the month and it’s not. I think, honestly, I’m starting to get all worked up about the reception I’m preparing all the food for on July 6. I have a really bad habit of letting stuff consume me. I really just cannot believe I have another whole week to get stuff caught up before I have to start concentrating on it!!! All week-end long I’ve been telling my husband that I will be out of commission this week and next week so don’t count on me for anything and here I have a whole week. Now I can quit worrying about all the stuff I thought was going to have to wait!! Geez, see where worry gets you. You know, worry can’t be healthy!!
By the way, as a side note, have you all seen the Tiger Lilies blooming? Now’s the time to harvest some buds and blooms. Sauteing the buds in olive oil and chopped garlic is a wonderful way to eat these plants. Of course, there’s always deep frying the blossoms but the buds are pretty doggone good. While you’re out there in the wild take a look at all the elderberry bushes blooming as well. If you’ve never had Elderberry Fritters you don’t know what you’ve missed!!
