Yesterday hubby and I ran into a small hitch. With all the rains we discovered that we nearly had our own mini-mudslide. The retainer wall next to our house has started to give way. We just cannot have that happen because it will carry our air conditioning system and our septic piping with it!! Hubby tried his best to rig it so that it would hold through another rain (hopefully) until we could get someone out here to check it out for us, tell us what they could do and give us a quote. I spent most of the morning transplanting the garlic that we had planted at the top of the wall into a space in the herb garden and just sort of heeled in some of the hops plants into the herb garden until I could find a place to plant them permanently. We also moved some of the flowers into the back part of the herb garden and are now basically holding our breath and hoping that we can get the wall fixed before it caves in. We called the guy this morning and he's supposed to get back with us today. Something like this usually really gets to me but in the big scheme of things - well, it's just not worth getting all bent out of shape about. As my grandpa used to say, "Got bigger fish to fry!!"
I noticed yesterday that there were 3 dandelion blooms in our yard. Yes, that's right, just 3; and yes, I was looking. Hopefully, after it rains the dandelions will all start to pop and I can get a bunch dug up. I've got big plans for dandelions this year. I'm going to do a lot of cooking, drying and storing. I'm also feeding the chickens dandelions too. Look out for dandelion everything!!
