As they pulled out the driveway the girls waved and hollered “bye Granny” – “bye Papaw” and were still waving as they pulled out of sight. Till the next time . . .
I suppose it's back to the mundane, at least that's how it feels, even though we probably have more action on this place in a day than most people have in a week!!
Hey, I'm at last able to type and use my little finger. I was going a little nuts trying to type without using it. I was hitting all sorts of keys but it's much better now.
We have so much food left over. Seriously, we can eat a week with what's left in the frig. I froze what I could but we've still tons left – and to think I really didn't even cook that much!!
How are your gardens growing? Ours is absolutely amazing!! Everything is growing like weeds, including the weeds. The corn and beans, potatoes and carrots are doing wonderfully and the cabbage, broccoli and cauliflower are finally coming around. I've even got a few blooms on my tomatoes. Gosh, fresh tomatoes sounds so good!! I sort of cheated when I made salsa this week-end. I bought some tomatoes and then added my whole canned tomatoes to make the salsa. It actually wasn't half bad but there's nothing like fresh tomato salsa.
By the way, I'm looking for a really good tomato salsa recipe for canning. If anyone has a tried and true recipe they would share with me I would certainly appreciate your putting it on the comment section of this blog. Perhaps we could all share some of our salsa recipes, both fresh and canned!!
Well, I guess that's it for today. To be honest, I suppose I'll be turning off the lights tonight feeling a little blue - but I'll get over it!! Tomorrow is a new day! You all be thinking about those salsa recipes, ya hear!!?
